Amirthakadeshwarar Temple, Melakadambur, TN
Melakadambur is a village located 31 kilometres from Chidambaram in Cuddalore district of Tamizh Ndu. This village is known for Amirthakateshwarar temple which was built in the year 1113 CE by Kulothunga Chola of Chola dynasty. This temple is also called as Karakkoil. There are nine types of Hindu temple structures. Amongst them, Karakkoil is a is in chariot like structure. The structure is pulled by horses looks and hence looks like a chariot drawn by horses! There are hundreds of intricate sculptures in this temple.
