Amruteshvara Temple, Amruthapura
The Amruteshvara Temple in Amruthapura, also known as the Amrutesvara or Amruteshwara Temple, is a 12th-century Hoysala temple located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. Built in 1196 CE, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a notable example of Hoysala architecture, known for its intricate sculptures and polished pillars.
The temple walls are adorned with detailed carvings that depict stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the Bhagavata Purana.
A distinctive feature is the series of polished, lathe-turned pillars in the mantapa (hall).
