Kodandarama temple, Hiramagaluru
The Kodandarama Temple is in the small village of Hiremagalur, just outside of Chikmagalur, Karnataka. The temple is known for its exquisite idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana, and it holds a few unique distinctions: Goddess Sita is positioned to God Rama's right, and there is no idol of God Hanuman.
The unique idol arrangement is said to represent the time after the battle with Ravana and before Lord Rama's coronation, when Hanuman had not yet joined them. Despite not having a grand tower, the temple is known for its peaceful and serene atmosphere.
This temple is considered to be one of the oldest Lord Rama temples in South India
