The current palace at Mysuru was constructed in the year 1912 and it then coasted Rs 4,47,913! This masterpiece in Indo Saracenic architecture was designed by a British architect Henry Irwin. The palace before this was destroyed in a fire accident in the year 1897!
This is the home of the Wodyers who ruled Mysuru for more than 500 years. It has an intricately detailed elevation with a profusion of delicately curved arches, bow like canopies, magnificent bay windows and columns in varied styles ranging from Byzantine to Hindu.
