Ramappa Temple, Palampet TS
This is one of the most beautiful temples of Kakatiya period. It was built by Racherla Rudra a general of Kakatiya Ganapathy Deva. It was built in 1213 CE. The main deity of this temple is a lingam made of Black basalt stone.
Inside the mandapam (hall) the ceiling is a magnificent display of sculptures depicting scenes from Ramayana, Sivapuranam and other mythological narratives. The striking peculiarity of the temple lies in the arrangement of the bracket figures. The temple is decorated with slender and graceful Madanikas, and naginis in different poses.  
This temple has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 25th July 2021.
