Ravanaphadi is a rock-cut shrine dedicated to Shiva. It has a rectangular frontage and square inner space. Inside this rock-cut shrine there is a gorgeous dancing Shiva sculpture with ten hands! There are also sculptures of Saptamatrikas watching Shiva dancing, rows of beautiful Ganas, Mahishamardini, Varaha and other artist’s slender figures. This is believed to be of 6th century! There is a Shiva linga in the Garbhagriham with its peetam and it is a monolith!
This is a protected monument and it is under the care of Archaeological Survey of India and photography is freely allowed!
