Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Srirangam, TN
The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple or Thiruvarangam is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu deity Vishnu. It is located at Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple occupies an area of 155 acres with 50 shrines, 21 towers, 39 pavilions and many water tanks integrated into the complex making it the world's largest functioning Hindu temple. The Srirangam temple is the largest temple compound in India and one of the largest religious complexes in the world.
Different structures of this temple have been built by various dynasties which ruled this area between 11th and 16th century.
They issue a ticket for Rs 25 and allow photography in this temple.
