Ramappa temple, Mulugu
The Ramappa Temple, or Kakatiya Rudreshwara Temple, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the village of Palampet in the Mulugu district of Telangana. Built in 1213 CE during the Kakatiya period, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is named after its sculptor, Ramappa, which is a rare tribute in India. The temple stands out for its exceptional Kakatiya-style architecture, featuring lightweight "floating" bricks and intricate, high-quality sculptures.
