Vahanams
A Vahana or Vahanam is the vehicle or mount of a deity. Vahanas can be animals, birds, or human beings, and each deity has at least one, though many have multiple. The vahana's positive aspects often represent the deity it carries.
When the Utsavar (bronze idol used for processions) is taken out in procession they are mounted on these Vahanams and taken out!
Usually, they are brilliantly painted with very vibrant colors, and they exude high positive energy.
Here are some of the Vahanams that I have photographed in various temples!
